Growing up, I listened to Stevie Ray Vaughan with my dad all the time. His music became part of the soundtrack of my childhood and left a lasting impression on me. So when the opportunity came up to sell my art at South by Southwest in Austin, I knew I had to paint him.

Stevie Ray Vaughan is truly an Austin icon. His talent, passion, and unmistakable sound helped shape blues and rock music in a way few artists ever have. Though he was taken from us far too soon after the Stevie Ray Vaughan helicopter crash, his influence and legacy continue to live on.

To me, he remains one of the greatest guitar players to ever live, and creating this piece felt like honoring both a legend and the memories I share with my dad listening to his music.
